    14. fcrfortes

You could see that Cliff was the best musician by far, followed by James, who was still learning to sing and to be a frontman, which didnt get in the way of his guitar playing tho. Kirk was the new guy, so he delivered without much improvisation, and Lars knew his limitations, so he focused on solid drumming and no silly fills. Good good times

    15. N. Night

Woukd like to read the Lars metal autobiography

They've always had that incredible stage presence and sound. I love it when James says "this one is gonna kill all the fake people out there, all the posers. We fuckin' hate them". I roared with laughter. The nostalgia of that statement warmed my heart. Metallica was a huge part of my youth and I found a great outlet for my rage. Never too old to feel gleeful over memories of teasing posers and all the dorky hair bands like Poison and yuck, I can't even think about those pansy ass lady man lilyanthals. The first time I listened to Metallica was Master of Puppets around the time it was released. I was a freshman in HS, my friend borrowed the cassette tape in her brother's collection & we were blown away. The music scared the crap out of me but it opened the door for a lifetime of real music with natural born talent. I was a teen in the 80s, posers & pop artists unfortunately dominated the music charts. Thank God for Metallica!! I hope to see you guys in Buffalo again. You guys were, are, and always will be the kings of heavy metal. I don't know if you guys read the comment sections (probably not), but if you do, keep your head up, James. I knew just by watching your shows and noticing your demeanor last year that you were struggling. I am so glad that you made it back. I'm in recovery and will have 4 years clean in July. I went back to college & worked hard & earned another degree. I'm now an official therapist. Those demons just sneak up out of nowhere sometimes. You have a lot of love and support.

,,I was homless. I've spent nights at the floor at the other people's apartments. Xavier was one of the good people that had a crib in Nothing Hill. The only problem was huge quanites of whisky and Burbon that he told me to drink- Marker's Mark, Crown Royal, Old Grandad but never Jack Daniel's. (...) also Molly Hatchet that you HAD to listen. That means play to Molly Hatchet's music on squash rockets, wich we were using pretending we're playing on the real guitars, (...) usually at 2am. (...) he lighted up candles, poured up the glass, and we were listening to ,,No Guts...No Glory''. (...) but one day, he broke this rule. ,,Here, listen to this one!'', he smiled, as he was pulling of vinyl disc from the cover of the album i didn't know. (...) You could just tell that this one is something diffrent, and absolutley new . He couldn't wait to show me. (...) Tierd of the hard week that I've spent somewhere in one of the King's Cross apartments, (...) I fell down on the sofa, waiting for the music. In some sense, it sounded like cacophony of exploding giuitars and drums. (...) after a moment, a band found their place, and started. I laughed. That was the fastest and the funniest thing that I've listened since the first Dmaned album, and you have to know, that for me, the first Damned album was the fastest and the funniest thing that I've heard in my life. That was FANTASTIC.(...) I thought that it had to be some kind of punk band, but when I looked at the cover of the album, I realised they weren't punk band. They were looking like mix of Iron Maiden, and Motorhead fans in disco club. And then I noticed their name- Metallica- and I laughed again. Only Xavier could find a metal band called Metallica! And another song begun. ,,that's it!'' he shouted right to my ear. (...) and then the sound became more interesting. God, those guitars! They sounded like machines! (...) how long was this song? So fucking long. (...) and suddenly the guitar solo came up, twisting your spine in arc. Wow, it was surley a metal. (...) music was so loud, and repentless, that I thought that I'm going to pass out! (...) When I finally sat on the sofa, the music was still ringing in my ears. ,,they will be great someday.'' Xavier kept telling me that over and over again. I didn't belive it. Just becouse some freaks like me and Xavier enjoyed this, doesn't means that evereyone will like that. (...) it was a madness'' ~Mick Wall ,,Metallica Enter Night Biography

    56. Corey Keller

This is when buying a Metallica album was still difficult. They advertised in the Classified sections of Hit Parader and Circus magazines. You could not find the album in the record stores. They had to be special ordered for you!
